We are pleased to announce that  Laura J. Busian Schmidt has joined the Leuthner & Huether, Ltd. law firm. She brings with her a variety of experience, including business, nonprofit, landlord/tenant, real estate, and estate law, as well as extensive litigation experience. She prides herself on providing legal services that are client focused, innovative, and effective, and she partners with each of her clients to help them successfully navigate the issues they are facing.

Laura grew up in Morris, obtained an undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, and obtained a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law) in St. Paul. Following law school, she served as a judicial law clerk to Judge David C. Higgs in Ramsey County, then worked for a Minneapolis-based law firm thereafter. Before joining our firm, she had her own law practice in St. Paul. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs, with a concentration in community and economic development, from Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

Laura recently relocated back to the Morris area and is excited to continue her life and career here. Beyond her law practice, she is an active community member, a yoga instructor, and an embracer of life. She looks forward to working with the members of our community.
